On March 6th, 2025 I attended the Roadcaster Demo in the new Podcasting room in Decary Hall at UNE. During this 40 minute demo, I learned how to appropriately use the equipment to record a multi-person podcast fast and efficiently. When we first arrived the instructor showed us how to use the equipment as well as how to directly put the recordings right onto Garageband. After that, the instructor allowed the 4 of us who attended to make our own podcast, to see how it all worked together. We made a podcast reflecting on the most popular documentary that just came out about the Youtube family called 8 Passengers.
I am highly interested in using this space in the future, because I found it very fun and useful. I am planning on using this podcast device for the rest of my podcasts. I liked how you can hear everyone clearly whether it was while someone else was speaking or not. I also feel it is a lot more organized than the smaller audio podcast devices. When we recorded our podcast as a group, we could hear each other clearly and it helped for a better quality podcast. We could hear our small laughs but it didn’t overpower the entire podcast. After our 10 minute podcast finished recording, the instructor explained some ways to improve our podcast, which helped me realize how important some portions of the podcast were. Like explaining to the listeners exactly what needed to be said so all the listeners can understand what we are talking about.
